Heatherdene is a beautiful house, in a wonderful setting. The house is very spacious, beautifully decorated, well equipped and dog friendly. There is lots to do and see in the local area. You can walk to the train station in Goathland and take the steam train to either Whitby or Pickering. We all ( 9 people and 1 dog ) had a lovely holiday.

My wife and I have stayed at Heatherdene for the last 6 years, not for the whole of the year, but for the Whitby Goth weekends, birthdays and just the sheer joy of being in the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors. Each time we stayed we were greeted with genuine warmth hospitality and friendship by Sheila and Andy; it was like being in a grander version of our own house.
The lounge is large, comfortable with wonderful views over the moors, the bedrooms are very comfortable and invite you to relax fully into the relaxing experience of your break. Highly recommended.

Wow what can I say! A beautiful big farmhouse in the famous Goathland, surrounded by stunning scenery everywhere you look. The house is as gorgeous on the inside as it is on the outside, with lovely clean rooms and everything you could possibly need to make your stay comfortable. Sheila is an amazing lady and makes you feel at home, welcoming you in and when you leave. Best place to relax after busy days exploring Whitby and other beautiful places surrounding Goathland by the wonderful steam trains, within walking distance from Heatherdene. Stayed for a week with my two young grandchildren, heatherdean is owned and run by an extremely friendly and welcoming couple and upon arrival we were met and made to feel extremely welcome. The hotel is very clean which made us feel safe in these difficult times, With a homely feeling and freshly cooked breakfasts every thing was first class,nothing to much trouble from the owners who made our stay extremely pleasant, certainly looking forward to a return visit in the future.

Sheila and andy what a lovely couple so friendly make you feel so welcome into their home nice log fire comfy chairs nice clean rooms well looked after and breakfast is what ever you fancy after a nice long walk welcome you back with nice cup of Yorkshire tea and biscuits an nice chat relax in front of the fire

Et helt fantastisk sted. Vidunderlig beliggenhed, med Yorkshires fortryllende landskab lige udenfor vinduerne. Her er fred og ro. De smukke rene værelser er en fornøjelse og den dejlige morgenmad giver en rigtig god start på dagen. Sheila og Andy er det sødeste og mest elskeligste værtspar. Her føler man sig meget velkommen og set. Virkelig et sted man bare bliver nødt til at vende tilbage til.

We were made very welcome at this small guesthouse on the outskirts of Goathland. Rooms are immaculate and the rear ones have great views over the North Yorkshire countryside. The hosts were friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend.

Stayed here on a number of occasions well placed for the coast and for walking. Rooms are spacious and very clean. Breakfast choice excellent and freshly cooked. Owners are very nice friendly and helpful.
